Can a mastic asphalt floor be left as a finished floor???....
For domestic floors mastic asphalt may be used as a finished floor but as it is affected by fats, grease
and vegetable oils it is intended only as an underlay to carpets and tiles etc in kitchens.


How thick do you lay the mastic asphalt, will it fit under the existing doors, will i have to replace skirting boards,
and will it level an uneven floor???....
Mastic asphalt flooring is laid at a thickness of between 15 & 20 mill. If your doors are tight fitting to the existing floor we will remove doors free of charge, and can arrange for the doors to be sawn to size and re-hung if required.We lay up to existing skirting boards, so they do not have to be replaced. And yes, within reason, mastic asphalt underlay can level uneven floors.


How long will the floor take, and how long before i can put my furniture back on it???....
Installing a mastic asphalt floor is surprisingly quick work obviously with a molten product the installation has to take place whilst the material remains in molten form, an average sized domestic living room, say 25m sq. will take one hour to install from start to finish. You can walk on your mastic asphalt floor as soon as the mastic asphalt has cooled enough to turn into solidified form, which is generally around an hour. So 2 hours from Raynormastic arriving and you'll be able to use your new floor It's best to leave a mastic asphalt floor of average thickness about three hours before placing furniture on it.


How long will the roof take???....
A small mastic asphalt roof depending upon the weather (we cannot work in the rain) will generally take a day to install. Obviously the larger the roof the longer the installation period.

Is it messy and what about the fumes of the molten mastic asphalt, is it dangerous???....
As regards mess we've never had any complaints. What looks like fumes is in fact steam rising, enviromental health officers would not allow us to install a dangerous product. We strictly adhere to health and safety regulations and codes of best practise.


I need the flat roof above my extension replaced, this room is very cold in winter, can you add insulation???....
Yes, there are various types of insulation we can install prior to installing your mastic asphalt roof.


The boards under my leaking roof seem rotten, can you replace them???...
Yes, we offer a complete reboard service.


Can you replace the fascias and guttering???....
Of course we can replace rotten fascia, either with wood or upvc, and replace guttering and down pipes.


The plaster boards come down in the kitchen can you sort it out???....

Can i turn my roof into a roof top patio???....
Yes a tiled mastic asphalt roof is an ideal product for this purpose, however first check that the joists are strong enough to take the
