Mastic Asphalt Flooring

Each year Raynormastic complete many mastic asphalt floors. The time required to complete this job was one and half days.



The lorry is parked up

The first job is to unload the materials and set up the asphalt mixer.


The pre-existing asphalt flooring.

Prior to mastic asphalt installation, the existing asphalt has to be removed.


Barry and Stuart prepare the floor.

The first job is to load the ripped up floor onto the lorry.


A layer of fibre glass acts as an isolating membrane.

The isolating membrane allows for movement of the sub floor.


Stuart fills carries and empties the buckets.

Baz does is stuff.


The job is completed in bays.

Each bay is knitted into the preceding bay via hot asphalt.
Note that the mastic asphalt flooring is sand rubbed.
This provides a textured surface for the vinyl glue to adhere too.
